SPTF RECITALS
General Guidelines for all SPTF recitals
1. Registration
1. Registration
-
Registration Form:
All recital registration forms will be sent via e-mail as an attachment and are
available on the website, www.suffolkpianoteachers.org. All teachers must use the updated form to properly register with all of the requested information filled in. Registration forms can be emailed, mailed by postal service or hand delivered at a meeting to the recital coordinator. E-mail registrations can be sent via attached file using the official form as a template or simply typed as an e-mail text. However, it must include all the information requested in the official form in order to be accepted.
-
Fee:
Fees must be sent to the recital coordinator. Make check payable to SPTF. The registration fee for all recitals is currently set at $10 per student. There is no sibling discount.
-
Deadline:
Due dates of recital registration are decided at the planning meeting in June for the following academic year. Customarily all due dates have been on the day of the monthly meeting one month prior to the recital date. No late or phone registrations will be accepted. Submit completed registration form by mail, e-mail or drop-off. Teachers may type information directly onto the form and forward as an attachment to the recital coordinator and mail the check, or mail/drop off both together. Registration form and fee must be postmarked by the due date or
e-mailed/dropped off by midnight of the due date. Due dates will be strictly enforced as listed on SPTF calendar.
-
Number of Students Registered:
If one teacher registers 8 or more students, the students will be divided into at least two recitals. This is to balance the number of entries of teachers and avoid any appearance of a private studio recital. In addition, the recitals are an important opportunity for students to share and listen to performances of other studios.
-
TimeLimitforPerformances:
Each recital has its own time limit for performances. Carefully read the Repertoire section for recitals below before selecting recital pieces. Time limits are based on students’ actual performance time rather than length of piece.
2. Recital Procedure
-
Students are to be seated in performance order. Numbers are written on the
programs, which are placed in order on each chair.
-
The emcee will make opening remarks, give instructions to students for walking
on and off stage and bowing, announce each performer’s name and piece(s), and give closing remarks.
-
Students, especially younger performers, will be assisted with the pedal extender,
bench adjustment and arrangement of cushions.
-
All students will receive participation certificates and will take a group photo
holding their certificates.
-
Student and Parent Attendance Requirement:
A parent, guardian or an adult responsible for the student must attend the entire duration of the student’s recital.
LIABILITY DISCLAIMER:
SPTF as an organization and any individuals such as teachers, officers, board of directors, committee members, are not responsible for any injuries or losses associated with SPTF- sponsored events.
NOTICE OF PHOTO PUBLISHING:
SPTF reserves the right to publish anonymous student group photos for publicity
purposes. These photos may appear in the SPTF Newsletter, posted on the SPTF
Facebook page, or in local newspapers. Individual photos of any person will not be used
without the express permission of the person and/or their parent/guardian.
